Lorena hidalgo

Lorena Hidalgo is a professional in Administration and Finance with extensive experience in the management of large multi-million dollar regional projects, most of them executed in the Andean Amazon but also in small projects from Mexico to Argentina. She has experience in biodiversity conservation projects and in sub-granting to indigenous organizations in the Andean Amazon. Lorena has worked for USAID/Ecuador, IUCN, Chemonics International, Rainforest Alliance, The Nature Conservancy and Fundamedios. 

She has worked with Ecuadorian indigenous peoples such as the Waorani, the Cofán, the Chachi, the Awa, the Secoya. Her expertise is focused on project evaluation, including preparation and monitoring of the annual project budget, ensuring compliance with donor policies, rules and regulations, evaluation of Environmental Thresholds, as well as conducting Due Diligence, administration of agreements and contracts. She has a degree in Business Administration from Universidad San Francisco de Quito, a diploma in Strategic Finance from Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Specialization in Taxation from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar. She speaks Spanish, mother tongue, advanced English and intermediate French.
